I realize I am probably the only one of us in this community that enjoys hip-hop music so I don't know how many of you are actually going to enjoy or even care for this post so I don't really expect any comments, if I get one I'll be surprised. But this artist I'm going to talk about is kind of more than just a hip-hop artist to me, kind of like Kanye West in a way. He does have a few clubby radio friendly songs but at the same time has just as many songs with good message in it which is mostly why I like him. He produces his own songs and makes his own beats and has meaningful lyrics just like Kanye as well. His name is Adam Tensta and he is from Tensta, Sweden. Tensta is apparently a suburb of Stockholm. He raps in swedish but also english. When he is speaking english you can't even tell his is from Sweden. The first song I heard of was "My Cool" I liked it just because it was catchy and I just liked it. But as I downloaded more of his songs I started to like him more and more. For example, I was listening to his song "Bangin on the System" which talked about a lot of things from women's rights, over working and under paying people and one of his lines actually said something about paying teachers more because of what they do with the youth. I know me writing it on my blog doesn't make it sound cool but if you listen to the song you'll understand more. I just think he as well as Kanye is more of what Hip-Hop needs. They don't talk about killing or doing drugs, yea they have the occasional comment about sex or something, but who doesn't? I'll put three videos of his up from YouTube. The first one will be "My Cool" just because I am addicted to the song now and I strongly believe it will be on the radio real soon. The second song is going to be "Bangin on the System." Just to warn, the second song does sound like it will be a "gangsta" song, but it really isn't, it has a good message. The third one is called "80s Baby" it is a song about his life growing up, it isn't much of a video, just listen to the song. Enjoy.

A proposal to KMFP. I need the support of the Artichoke Community.
I propose that KMFP gets a blog while she is in France. I understand she is against blogs and claims to not even read them, but hey, she is in France so this is a completely different situation. For starters, not that she every answered in America, but she isn't going to be calling anyone on her cell phone while she is in Europe. Secondly, she is rarely online, and when she IM's us we may miss it (as I did today and I am deeply saddened by this). Another thing, facebook posts can only go so far, am I right? So I say while she is in France she blogs. Updates us all on her adventures she is going to experience in her everyday life.
Am I the only idiot that cares? If not, let me know, I think if we work together we can convince. United we are one people, united we are one.

What really grinds my gears....Session 5.
You know what really grinds my gears? Stupid ass Facebook invitations. I don't need to take a fucking quiz to find out what kind of drunk I am because, well, I'm not even a drunk. Also, I don't need to know if I'm the "funnest" person to be around. The only quiz for that is to hang out with me and chances are if you send me one of those, I won't hang out with you. Another thing, I get all these "Top Friends changed their moods" from people that I do not even have on my list, so why in the blue hell should I care if they changed their mood? I don't get it. What happened to the good old days when people went to Facebook because it WASN'T MySpace? Now all Facebook needs is a music player and changeable backgrounds and you have MySpace right there for you. This is getting really annoying and really really REALLY grinds my gears.
Well, it wasn't much, but it was just enough to start grinding my gears. I'm sure all of you that have Facebook can relate to this.

What really grinds my gears....Session 4.
You know what really grinds my gears? A lot of things today. For starters, people who sit in the back of the class room because they don't ever want to participate in class, but they insist on making stupid annoying comments because they still need to be the coolest kid in class. This is only the second week of class and I have already heard over and over comments about marijuana from this one loser in the back of the class room that sits next to a girl who no doubt he is trying to impress. Yea, we get it dude, you smoke pot, you're cool and we all want to be just like you. Fuck, this isn't high school anymore you don't need to try so hard for attention and make idiot jokes to seem funny anymore. It is amazing how hard it is for some people to make that transition from high school to college. I admit, a lot of times I like to be the center of attention, but even I know the time and the place. So seriously guy, nobody cares if you get high, if you want to impress the girl, whisper the jokes to her, or talk to her during the 10 minute break, or even after class.
Another thing that really grinds my gears has to do with the recent demise of Australian actor Heath Ledger. I'm talking about all the disrespect people are handing out when they talk about this. To start off, John Gibson. For those of you who don't know who he is, John Gibson is a Fox News anchor who has his own radio show. On his show he would play clips from Brokeback Mountain and afterwards would mock Heath Ledger and make light of his death. Making comments such as calling Ledger a weirdo and saying he had a serious drug problem. Saying his death was because he watched the Clinton-Obama debate the night before. First of all, those jokes aren't even funny. Second of all, how are you going to call someone a weirdo with a serious drug problem without even knowing him on a personal level. I think the only reason Gibson said those things was because he wants to make more of a name for himself by stirring up a little bit of controversy. The only problem is he doesn't know the difference between controversy and tastelessness. Let's see in about a month when thousands upon thousands of angry people write to the station and to Gibson's superiors about his dickheadedness and his ass gets fired and has no show to stir up controversy on and make everyone with have a brain that listens to his show sick to their stomach because he is a complete and total jackass, I'm surprise he hasn't ran for president yet.
Another thing that grinds my gears, pretty much the same topic, but this church that I have been reading about on the Head Artichoke's blog. I don't know anything more about them than what is posted on the blog, but from what I have read, it makes me happy to be an atheist. If there is a God then I can guarantee you one thing, you people are NOT what he wants you to be. If there is in fact a hell, I can also guarantee you that you all have a one way ticket to the hottest and darkest corner of hell where Satan himself with personally watch and follow you all day and everyday and make sure you are burning and suffering on every inch of your body and once he thinks you have had enough he will piss on you to put you out. After he is done and does his two shakes, he will light your ass again and let you burn for an eternity.
That is all that grinds my gears today, I apologize to my readers for the vulgarity in this post but at least 2 of these 3 topics really and truly grind my gears beyond belief and I sure hope you can all relate.

Artist of the week-Ron English

One aspect of his work involves 'liberating' commercial billboards with his own messages. Frequent targets of his work include Joe Camel, McDonalds, and Mickey Mouse. Ron English can be considered the "celebrated prankster father of agit-pop", who wrangles carefully created corporate iconographies so that they are turned upside down, and are used against the very corporation they are meant to represent. Ron English has also painted several album covers including The Dandy Warhols album cover "Welcome to the Monkey House". Some of his paintings are also used in Morgan Spurlock's documentary Super Size Me.
Songs In English is the world's first blog-as-you-go recording project. It is based on the lyrics of World Renowned Ron English and Brooklyn songwriter Jack Medicine. The project is being arranged and produced by the high energy rock stylings of Velvet Rut. English has also collaborated with Daniel Johnston and Jack Medicine in the Hyperjinx Tricycle project.
I also believe I read or heard somewhere that he worked for Camel Cigarettes for a while because they liked the talent he had. He was fired after about a year because they realized all the art work he had been doing for their ads had small subliminal messages in them to try to get people to stop smoking. Because he took the job people have looked at him in two different ways. Some people think he is a sell out for taking money from a company he swore against and don't believe small subliminal messages would even out with the money he took. Others think he is a rebel/hero or whatever you would call it because although he was paid, the subliminal messages showed him doing what he could with his talents to help the cause of no smoking, and getting Camel to pay for it without them knowing. What do you think?

A little help please...
This isn't really a post, just reaching out for a little bit of help on something. I have been really exciting to watch Comanche Moon on t.v. ever since I saw a preview for it but my dumb ass missed it somehow. Does anyone know if and when it will be replaying? If you do, please comment and let me know. Thanks.
