Why, in parking lots, do people take the time to back into parking spots? Sure you get the easy forward exit, but it always seems to me like the people who are backing into parking spots have a hell of a lot harder time than people who just back out. If anyone reads this and is a "back into a spot" kind of person, please enlighten me. Why?

Artist of the week-Banksy

Robert Banks aka Banksy is a well known pseudo-anonymous English graffiti artist. I first heard about him in my humanities class and instantly he became one of my favorites. I love what he does. He is believed to be a native of Yate (near Bristol) and born in 1974, but there is substantial public uncertainty about his identity and personal and biographical details. His work always has a message to it which touches on topics like politics, culture, and ethics. Banksy started as a freehand graffiti artist in the late 1980s as one of Bristol's DryBreadZ Crew (DBZ), often assisting writers Kato and Tes. In 1998 he arranged the enormous "Walls On Fire" graffiti jam along with fellow Bristol graffiti legend Inkie on the site of the future "@t Bristol" development. The weekend long event drew artists from all over the UK and Europe and his organisation of the event established his name within the European graffiti scene. By 2000 he had turned to the art of stencilling after realising how much less time it took to complete a "piece". He claims he changed to stencilling whilst he was hiding from the police under a train carriage, and soon became more widely noticed for his art around Bristol and London. Banksy's stencils feature striking and humorous images occasionally combined with slogans. The message is usually anti-war, anti-capitalist, anti-establishment or pro-freedom. Subjects include animals such as monkeys and rats, policemen, soldiers, children and the elderly.

No one really knows much about him, even what he looks like. He tries to remain completely anonymous. He does his art in stencils he makes so when he goes out, he can place the stencil and quickly paint it.
For more information on him you can go to his website...www.banksy.co.uk
Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

R.I.P. ChiSox
It's a sad day when I have to make this announcement. On Friday when I went to State to celebrate Em Len's birthday, everybody got pretty drunk. Over night when everyone fell asleep, some drunk ass decided it to be a good idea to take a piss in the corner of the living room. In the line of fire, my favorite hat that I wear everyday of my life. My Chicago White Sox hat was covered bill-to-back in urine, completely soaked. In a hung over rage I demanded that someone put it through the wash cycle a dozen times. After calming down I had a change of heart and decided since it has been pissed on, the integrity of the hat has been completely compromised and I would never feel comfortable with it on my head again. So go to hell you drunk urinator, straight to hell. R.I.P. ChiSox.
Can we please have a moment of silence for my beloved hat.
Thank you.

What really grinds my gears....Session 3.
You know what really grinds my gears? When people say the word "bra" not referring to women's underwear, but referring to their friend. For those who don't know, bra is the "cool" way to say bro. Cool? No, not to me, I even hate when people say "bro" and "bra" is like the red-headed step child of "bro." It is ridiculous, I realized my hatred for it last night at Kip and Gallagher's place and I would say it as a joke. I even got annoyed with myself at one point in time. Now I'm sorry if you guys think the word is cool and saying it makes you cool, because it doesn't make you cool, it makes you a tool. Just a little rhyme I made up, I do that sometimes. So please, stop calling people bra. There are so many other words you could use like man or buddy. I am a man, and we could be buddies, but one thing is for damn sure, I'm not your bra, bra!

Artist of the week

Ron Mueck (born 1958) is an Australian hyperrealist sculptor working in Great Britain.
I took this from Kanye West's blog from his website. I know I don't usually do things like this but after taking humanities last semester it made me more interested in art and when I saw this, I thought it was real interesting. This is just one of many pictures from his blog, more info on the artist and more pictures of his work can be seen one Kanye West's blog which is under my "CeleBlogs" section. You may have to search for it when you get there but it's worth it because his work is very detailed and interesting. Who knows, maybe I'll start my own artist of the week on here.

ACTIVATE EAP!
Well, last night was pretty intense. We had a few folks over for some beer pong (I went 10-1, I know, amazing) and someone had a little bit too much to drink. It's amazing that no matter how drunk you are you can sober up in the blink of an eye if you really need to. Last night I pretty much had to save a life. My friend that had a little too much to drink was a hair away from unconscious on his back and vomiting. Since he was my friend, I was the only one who really helped him so I have to carry him (all 6 foot 5 of him) into the bathroom. There I had to use pretty much all of my strength to hold him over the toilet since he was so drunk he would just flop onto his back if he wasn't being held. Once he finally regained some bit of consciousness he decided he didn't want to be there so he got up and started running out of the bathroom. I put my hand on his chest to stop him but since he is bigger than me, if he didn't want to be stopped he wasn't going to be. I then had press my ear on his chest and wrap my arms around him and drive him back into the bathroom where once he was there he was so out of it he just sat down and fell back again. I then yelled for someone to get me a bottle of water and some crackers and they brought it to me and since stuffing food into an unconscious persons mouth would be very dumb, I smacked him (lightly, ha) in the face a couple times until he opened his eyes and I said "hey! I'm giving you crackers will you eat them?" He shook his head yes and reached his hand out and I gave him a cracker and he just slammed it into his mouth and he chomped on his like a fucking horse(which makes sense since he worked at the ranch this summer, ha) and then I asked him if he was thirsty and he said yes so I had him lean forward and open his mouth so I could poor a little bit in his mouth. He drank the water then proceeded to vomit more in and around the toilet. I had someone go in my room and get one of my pillows because he kept falling back and hitting his head on the wall. I got the pillow and laid him down on his side so if he vomited it wouldn't go back into his mouth. I put the pillow behind him in between him and the wall so it would hold him in place. I had to keep slapping him to keep him up so he would eat the crackers and drink the water. Eventually he finished vomiting all over my roommates bathroom and I promised them I would clean it up this morning, which I did. He then passed out in the hallway so I gave him the pillow and a blanket and would check on him every couple minutes to make sure he was still alive, he made that easy because he was snoring like a fucking air horn.
So that was my interesting story and act of heroism. I know the story doesn't sound that exciting but if you were there it was nothing short of intense. Also, here you go Kit, I finally split into paragraphs a little bit. I know they aren't proper paragraphs but it is the best you are going to get out of me so stop bitching, ha.

New Year's Resolution
I don't really have a specific one, I feel when people do that it always comes out to be a vow to lose weight, or be a nicer person or something like that. My resolution for 08 is just to become more independent and do whatever I can to better my life and ensure a good future for myself. It may sound kind of selfish or a little too broad, but in this case, I find broad to be better than specific. When people make specific goals, they have a better chance of not reaching it and it makes them feel down and lose faith in the new years, this way, anything I do to better myself will be success, so I'l be happy. Happy 2008 everyone, hope it is better than 07 was.
