Brian Dawkins vs. The AFL

As I'm trying to understand the game of Aussie Football, I decided to look up videos on YouTube(there was actually an instructional video on there that I watched and think I understand the game more now) because Matt and others are always saying that Rugby and Aussie rules is better than NFL because they hit harder, and without pads. So I looked up AFLs hardest hits and was pretty impressed, they do hit harder than a lot of people in the NFL now because of the "gang tackle" they do a lot in the NFL now. I looked up all the NFL Big Hits videos and they weren't that great. I knew in the back of my mind there was one video I watched a long time ago that I think is better than the Aussie video. A highlight real of my favorite player, Weapon X:Brian Dawkins.

I feel 100% confident if Brian Dawkins played Aussie Rules he would be just as, maybe even more, dominate than he is in the NFL.

He'd need to get fitter.

Also James Hird (black jumper with red stripe and blonde hair) is seen on the receiving end of a lot of those tackles because he was fearless. Always injured, but fearless.

NFL hits are actually harder than rugby hits ( I can't comment on Ozzie rules) purely b/c of their nature. In the NFL you get a lot of cross hits , whilst people are up in the air, this is very dangerous for obvious reasons, mainly revolving around spinal injuries, but results in other breaks etc...rugby is relatively fairly controlled in the type of hits and taking someone out in the neck is illegal...also speak tackles have been outlawed and they are pretty immense...I would interested to see the statistics on the all the different leagues types of injuries and the severity of them...
