That doesn't seem fair.

The Minnesota Vikings docked WR Troy Williamson one game paycheck worth $26,000 for missing Sunday's game against the Chargers. The reason he missed it, his grandmother's, who raised him his whole life, funeral. Does a NFL team really need the $26,000? I mean it's not that much money to an organization that makes millions upon millions a year, they won the game by a huge margain without him so obviously it didn't hurt them at all, and he had a perfectly legit reason to miss the game. The only person it affected was him, and only because he will miss his stats for that game. So was it really necessary to dock him his paycheck? He isn't an allstar player like Randy Moss who wipes his ass with paychecks every once in a while, so why do that to him? Doesn't make sense to me. He is going to appeal that decision with the NFL Player's Union, and I agree with that. That pisses me off, I know he is a pro ball player, but still, it's the principle of it all.

Oh-Eh

"I don't care if they would have [taken] my pay for the rest of the year, I was going home," Williamson told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "It wouldn't have mattered to me."

I absolutely hate the ridiculous amounts of money that we pay sports stars while teachers, who help produce a better nation, get paid shit. Anyway, even with that preconception, I agree with you. It is stupid that they hurt him even more while he had to sit through his grandmothers funeral.

Yes, I agree athletes get paid a lot of money, and teachers get paid dirt. But what they did was just like if a teacher got a call saying their mother died and the school saying, well, you can go, but we can't pay you, sorry. People are heartless these days.
